Within the project "Support to inclusive education and training for everyday life for children and youth with disabilities", Regional Conference was held on Zlatibor in the period from November 23 to 26, 2017. The topic of the conference was The Use of Assistive Technology in Education and Social and Child Protection, and participants from Montenegro, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Republika Srpska were present.
Camp for children with disabilities, their parents/followers, volunteers and professional workers from Pljevlja, Berane, Cajetina and Uzice was organized in Ulcinj (Hotel Otrant) from 27.09. to 30.09.2017.
Training for the application of assistive technology in working with children with disabilities was organized in Berane on October 6th and 7th, and in Pljevlja on October 8th and 9th.

Training for use of assistive technology in working with children with disabilities has been organized in Cajetina, on Thursday June 15, for teachers from primary and secondary schools, as well as for experts from Day Care Center and parents of children with disabilities. The aim of the training is increasing competence of teachers, experts and parents for the application of assistive technology in working with children with disabilities.
Workshop on the use of assistive technology for children and youth with disabilities from Cajetina was held in Day Care Center for children with disabilities on June 15.
Training has been guided by two trainers – Mirjana Lazor and Nevena Ivkovic, experts in assistive technology from school "Milan Petrovic" Novi Sad, who have extensive experience in the field of information technology.
Eco-Fair at which pupils from primary school "Dimitrije Tucović" exhibited their handicrafts was organised on Tuesday, June 13th, in the city park in Cajetina. One booth was ceded to the Day Care Center for Children with Disabilities "Ray", where users presented items that they made in creative workshops.
All items have been sold for a symbolic amount. Users from Day Care Center sold all their handcrafts. The money, along with funds from the sale of works of primary school students, which students gave as a gift to Day Care Center users, will be used for the improvement of the Day Care Center for Children with Disabilities.
Members of the dental service from Cajetina delivered lectures on oral hygiene for users of Day Care Center for Children with Disabilities in Cajetina, on Thursday, June 1st.
Milica Gavovic dentist and dental nurse Bora Suljagic in an interesting way using jaw model explained to children the proper way to maintain oral hygiene. After the lecture, worker of the Red Cross from Cajetina, Sanja Milosavljevic, awarded users of Day Care Center for Children with Disabilities with the paste and toothbrushes.
During May, workshops with volunteers and beneficiaries were carried out in the Day Care Center for children with disabilities in Cajetina.
Participants made didactic educational resources from recycled materials.

Roundtable Discussion on Inclusion in Education, in course of the project "Support to inclusive education and training for the everyday life of children and youth with disabilities", was held on 20th April at the public library in Cajetina. The keynote speaker was Jelena Zunic Cicvaric, program coordinator at the Uzice Center for Children's Rights and one of the authors of the Publication of the research results of inclusive education in educational institutions in Serbia. Zorica Milosavljevic, president of CSO Zlatibor circle and project assistant, presented the results of the project and the activities carried out in Cajetina. Zorica Vesovic, Special School "Miodrag V. Matic" principal, talked about the work of the school. The event was attended by colleagues who are implementing the project in Montenegro, representatives of the Ministries of Education in Serbia, educational institutions, local authorities, representatives of the interdepartmental commission, director of the Center for Social Work in Cajetina and representatives of media.

Speakers at the conference were Milka Vasiljevic, director of the elementary school in Cajetina and project manager in Serbia, Zorica Vesovic, director of the Special School "Miodrag V. Matic", Zorica Milosavljevic president of CSO Zlatibor circle and project assistant, Vesna Belcevic, assistant for program and Sandra Sobotovic, special education teacher. They presented objectives and results of the project, and announced new activities.
The story about Anđela is a short film made by volunteers of Volunteer Center of Pljevlja on the occasion of 21st March - Day of Persons with Down syndrome.
Workshops with volunteers and students of the Special School "Miodrag V. Matic" are regularly implemented in Uzice. At the last workshop, young volunteers, students of the Teacher Training Faculty in Uzice, were making didactic materials according to the Montessori method, for Serbian language. This material is used in teaching children with disabilities.
An event for mothers, grandmothers and all the women who support the work of the Day Care Center "Ray" in Cajetina was organised on Wednesday, March 8, in Day Care Center premises.
Members of the project team that implements the project Support to inclusive education and training for the everyday life of children and young people with disabilities held a meeting, on February 21, about the procurement of equipment for assistive centers in Cajetina and Uzice.
The meeting was attended by professionals Marija Novakovic – psychologist, Marina Zecevic – special education teacher and Zoran Mitrasinovic – teacher, with whom a plan of purchasing the equipment has been made.
The attendees discussed the report by Ines Delzotto, Master of educational rehabilitation, of research that she implemented in the Day Care Center for children with disabilities in Cajetina and special school "Miodrag V. Matic" in Uzice, with the help of special instruments.

Assistive centers will be equipped for training children, parents, teachers and volunteers on the use of assistive technology in elementary school "Dimitrije Tucovic" in Cajetina and special school "Miodrag V. Matic" in Uzice, to the end of March.
The training of teachers for the implementation of inclusive education was performed in Cajetina on 28th and 29th January.
At the end of December, an assessment of the situation and educational needs of the users of Day Care for Children with Disabilities "Ray" and pupils in special school "Miodrag V. Matic" was performed.
Expert Ines Delzotto, master in educational rehabilitation and assistive technology specialists from Pula, assessed during December the children in Day care centre for children and youth with disabilities Pljevlja and NGO "The Ray of Hope", as well as children with disabilities in Day care centre for children and youth with disabilities Berane, Citizen Association Zlatibor circle, primary school "Dimitrije Tucovic" and primary school for children with disabilities education "Miodrag V. Matic".
During the assessment Mrs. Ines Delzotto applied the elements of assistive technologies that she uses during her work with children with disabilities, so means responsive to each child are chosen in a practical way.
Based on her assessment of the basic needs of children with disabilities for assistive technology (hardware and software), specifications for the procurement of hardware and software both in Montenegro and in Serbia will be prepared.

Press conference of the project "Support to inclusive education and training for everyday life for children and youth with disabilities" was held on 23rd December 2016 in the hall of the Municipality of Pljevlja. Speakers at the conference were Svetlana Dujovic, director of Day care center Pljevlja, who presented the objectives, results and activities of the project, Milos Brakocevic, director of Day care center Berane, Ivana Andjelic, a spokeswoman of gymnasium "Tanasije Pejatovic" and Stanica Loncar, president of the NGO "The Ray of Hope".
Project implementation started on 17th October 2016 and will last for 15 months including four work packages some of which run parallel to each other and will contribute towards the improved social inclusion and quality of life of children and youth with disabilities (CYWD) in Montenegro and Serbia through the development cooperation in the cross border regions and the use and sharing of human resources and IT achievements. Project will deal with the needs of cross-border region as well as targeted groups through activities that will be implemented in order to provide a higher level of access to quality education and skills necessary for everyday life of CYWD using assistive technology through the establishment of cross-border cooperation, the development of technical and human resources and peer support.

Within the project "Support to Inclusive education and training for everyday life for children and youth with disabilities" a study visit to the school "Milan Petrovic" in Novi Sad was organized. The visit was organized from 21.11.2016 to 25.11.2016 and was attended by 16 participants from the field of education and social protection from Pljevlja, Berane, Cajetina and Uzice (8 from Montenegro and 8 from Serbia).
The participants visited the Center for Assistive Technology and got acquainted with the conditions of use of assistive technology to support children with disabilities in equal access to education and social protection. Participants are trained to assess the needs of children with assistive technology and the method of use of elements of assistive technology (Tobi communicators, Go Talk communicators, special keyboards, mice, joysticks, devices for printing materials adapted to children with disabilities, Braille printers, desks for the disabled, etc.).
Moreover, it was performed the lecture on how to make affordable electronic materials, software and web tools that can be used to enable the accessibility of information to all persons regardless the obstacles and difficulties that have, which jointly with the assistive technology creates equal educational opportunities for all. Also, participants were able to observe users of the Work Center services during the use of assistive technology.
In addition to the training for the application of assistive technology, the participants got familiar with the method of transformation of special schools in the Service Center, as well as with a variety of programs being implemented in the field of education, health and social care, respite care services, home help services, Supported housing, Educational Center located in Cenej. Afterwards, they have visited the living room for children with autism and other living rooms, as well as kindergarten and elementary school where they visited the Montessori classroom, computer room, sensory room, a library and a sensory garden.
The first meeting of the project team members from Serbia and Montenegro was held on 22nd October 2016 in the primary school "Dimitrije Tucovic", Zlatibor. Participants at the meeting agreed on the conditions and manner of project implementation, cooperation and the functioning of the team in order to enable efficient realization of the activities.
